As part of iSPIRAL’s commitment to the creation of successful collaborations with esteemed organisations across the finance industry, the company is sponsoring a series of seminars and events held by the Cyprus Fiduciary Association (CYFA) throughout 2023 as it did back in 2022.
The latest of the event, which took place on March 15 in Limassol, Cyprus, saw leading regulatory technology software provider iSPIRAL sponsoring a seminar entitled “Sanctions Overview: A Practical Approach”.
During the seminar, esteemed speakers Mr. Stavros Pavlou, Ms. Stella Strati, and Ms. Aljona Sakharova spoke on subjects such as the introduction of the applicable EU Restrictive Measures, to Authorized Service Providers (“ASPs”) and analysed how the relevant prohibitions may affect the day-to-day operations and business of ASPs.
The seminar also analysed the possible derogations under the applicable EU regulations, reviewed the current procedures for obtaining licenses from the Ministry of Finance, and through case studies, it examined the practical impact of the restrictive measures and their derogations on the professional services industry. During the seminar, the interpretation and application of the EU restrictive measures by EU and Swiss banks was examined.
“The aim of this seminar was to deliver practical, hands-on information, with clear examples and real case studies and assist the attendees to gain a better understanding of the current international sanctions and restrictive measures and how such sanctions affect the Cyprus professional services industry. ” said Tasos Ttiniozou, Managing Director of iSPIRAL.
Maria Kyriakou, Manager at iSPIRAL, also gave a short presentation at the recent seminar, delivering a short presentation on the solutions iSPIRAL provides to hundreds of clients worldwide to assist with their AML & KYC obligations.
