iSPIRAL leads the conversation in RegTech and Digital Innovation

iSPIRAL, the region’s leading provider of RegTech solutions, participated in three notable events in Cyprus over the last week.

In the first event, held on March 29, iSPIRAL participated in and sponsored the 2nd Leveraging Digital Economy Conference. This important annual event attracts business leaders, investors, portfolio managers, analysts, and CEOs from around the world, and offers a focused, interactive platform for networking, exchange of knowledge, and an exploration of the emerging ideas and technologies that drive the digital economy forward.

Christos Ttiniozou, Managing Director at iSPIRAL, was amongst the moderators. “We were honoured to be part of the Conference and to contribute to the discussions on how technology can help enhance business operations and mitigate risks,” he says.

The second event, held on March 30 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Limassol, saw iSPIRAL’s AI & Machine Learning Lead, Michalis Spyrou, sharing his invaluable knowledge at the ‘Crypto Asset Service Providers & Cryptos: CySEC Registration, Legal Issues & AML Implications’ seminar.

Organised by the Cyprus Fiduciary Association, the seminar provided an overview of the legal and practical aspects for the set-up, CYSEC registration, and prospects of Crypto Asset Service providers in Cyprus. The event also saw a discussion of how regulatory technology can be used to tackle the AML implications faced by the crypto providers.

Michalis delivered an expert presentation during the seminar, addressing the important topic of ‘Leveraging Technology to Ensure AML Compliance in Your Crypto Business’. “At iSPIRAL, we believe that technology, specifically AI and machine learning, can play a critical role in helping crypto businesses be AML compliant,” says Michalis.

In the final event, also held on March 30, a number of iSPIRAL representatives attended the ACAMS Cyprus Chapter Sanctions Workshop, held at the Hilton Hotel in Nicosia.

This important workshop provided a pragmatic approach to sanctions for financial institutions and DNFBPs who have been struggling with the growing compliance burden since the onset of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

“The topics discussed were particularly relevant to iSPIRAL,” said Mr Ttiniozou. “iSPIRAL’s RegTech solutions include a suite of automated solutions that deliver unparalleled sanctions screening and compliance, and address a myriad of other regulatory challenges.

“By attending events such as these three,” he concludes, “iSPIRAL is able to share our important knowledge, remain at the cutting-edge of regulatory technology, and promote more effective compliance within the financial industry.”
